I am quite pleased with this result, I took my time to pick the right colour pallet and used a much softer brush, then I slowly built up the forms forms until the forms took shape. Then I used the dodge and burn tools to further darken and lighten the tones. I think that the nose has the best finished result, the colours look more subtle than the eye which looks a little to vibrant, I also think that I should have given the colours of the iris more thought. Looking back I realise there are many tools in photoshop that could have helped me with this process, I could of used selections for the eyes to help me keep the iris round, I could have created custom brushes to help me achieve certain textures for the eye brows and I could have used layers to keep all the lights and darks tones separate, so there is definite room for improvement. |
You need to start mocking up some compositions ideas now. Do at least 6 roughs - for both ideas. Each an improvement / development from the last. Do them digitally as rough sketches.
