Digital Painting (Looking At The Technique)

I love this style of illustration, It is a very different approach to what I am use to. My style of illustration is more line based and flat coloured as opposed to form, light and shade until now. The objective of this project is to step into the medium of digital painting and step out of my comfort zone. I am going use the technique that this artist has used to build a small and simple painting of my own. 

First I need to draw a line drawing of a character of my own. Then I have to choose a colour pallete with all the colours that I need. Also consider what brushes I will use especially when creating hair and remember to use layers so changes can be made.

Then I need to block in the basic shapes with the mid tone.

Then I have to build up the light and dark tones to build up the forms.

Then I need to finely tune the image using blending methods.
